Taekwondo

  • I started learning and training in this Korean martial art back in October 2021. At Haw’s Tae Kwon Do School, here at the Emory University dojang, we practice the Moo Duk Kwan Style.

  • I currently hold a red belt in this style. You can learn more about our ranking system here.

Mushroom Foraging

  • During the pandemic (yep, we are all thinking of the exact same one), when I first moved to Atlanta for my PhD, I turned into an amateur mushroom forager.

  • I have foraged across multiple green stretches in Atlanta and also in the famous North Georgia mountains. I first started noticing these fun-guys during Summer 2022, and needless to say-- I've been feeling mushy ever since!

One might ask why mushroom foragers are such good people? Well because they have good morels!

(stay tuned for more photos and puns...)

Gardening

  • Like every other person stuck at home during the pandemic, I too took to gardening. I have a proud green thumb (thanks to my parents)!

  • I like having plants and trees around me. At home, I have a deck where I grow multiple plants! My office space at the Math department has a giant floor-to-ceiling window, which lets me look outside at the giant green trees, the colourful birds, and the beautiful blue sky!

  • If you were on the research page of my website, you know that my garden isn't doing so well :( My PhD life, and extreme climate happened. But hey, I am plant-sitting this summer and it's going great so far :)

Amusing Blogs:

I said on the front page page of my website that I love reading mathematics blogs and love doing puzzles. So here is a sample collection (in no particular order):
