I am a member of the DRP Steering Committee. The program pairs motivated undergraduates with graduate students to learn a topic together. See this page for more information.
I have been an instructor with Emory Math Circle (EMC) for 6 semesters, starting from Spring 2021 to Fall 2023. During this time, I planned and led lessons for middle and high school students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I have also helped other EMC instructors with their lesson plans and assissted them during their sessions. The Emory Math Circle serves students in the Atlanta community and helps build a sense of familiarity and community among students.
I was a judge for Undergraduate Student Poster Session at the 2024 MAA MathFest in Indianapolis. This session featured research done by undergraduate students, where the content includes, but was not limited to, a new result, a new proof of a known result, a new mathematical model, an innovative solution to a Putnam problem, or a method of solution to an applied problem. Projects that are currently "in progress", but leading towards one of these outcomes were also welcome. Click here to read the Student Abstract Booklet!
I was the Social Chair for Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Graduate at Emory University, from 2023-2024. We organised outreach and mentoring events/opportunities for the women in sciences community at Emory. We also brought in speakers to advocate for the women/gender minorities, conducted social events like trivia night, movie night, etc. to build a sense of community, and volunteered for various scientific expos at the Atlanta Science Festival and the Fernbank Museum.
I am also the Vice President/Secretary and Co-Founder of the Emory University Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics.
I volunteered with Emory Math's Julia Robinson Math Festival on Saturday, August 27, 2022. We had over 150 people attend, including middle and high school students and their families!
I was one of the coordinators for the Junior Science Club at University of Hyderabad from 2016 to 2020. We coordinated and organised talks on interdisciplinary sciences and research, organised public outreach programs for school students in Hyderabad, designed and demonstrated science experiments using day-to-day objects, and designed puzzles to evoke an interest in mathematics.
Learning Through the Ranks: A Graduate Student Blog is hosted on the MAA's Math Values blog and is edited by Jasmine Camero. I wrote a post for the blog in June 2023, titled Finding Patience and Perseverance at Academic Conferences. You can find the article here.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Emory Math Circle temporarily moved online. I have led multiple middle school and high school sections and helped with countless others. These online sessions were 45 minutes each, instead of the usual 75 minutes in-person sessions. During my time at Emory Math Circle, I wrote several lesson plans and created slides for various activities, most of which have taken inspiration from Math Pickle website. Slides from some of my favourite lessons are linked below:
